24 Hour Lead Inspector Initial

LEAD INSPECTOR DESCRIPTION:
Lead Inspector courses offered at Chem Scope are CT DPH Approved under 20-478-1 through 3. Since Connecticut is an EPA authorized state, the course are also EPA Accredited under EPA CFR 40 745.226 and meet requirements of OSHA 1926.62. Training is accepted in other states. Check with individual states for any new requirements and added requirements for licensing or certification. Students who successfully complete the initial course become eligible to be certified by DPH in the discipline. They have to meet State requirements, submit a fee and an application.
Required for DPH abatement certification. Must have annual refresher before getting DPH certification renewed. DPH Accredited course.

Lead-based paint inspection methods, including selection of rooms and components for sampling or testing*
Paint, Dust and Soil Sampling *
Reoccupancy Testing, Clearance standards and testing including random sampling*
Cost Estimating and Overview of Abatement
Reports and Recordkeeping including formulating and implementing the final inspection report*
DPH Encapsulation Requirements
*Require hands on training and passing grading on hands on skills for course completion (in addition to full 24 hour attendance and to passing the final written examination).
Prerequisite for those who wish to be fit tested is a medical approval form indicating the individual can wear a respirator and the respirator.
Individuals must be clean shaven in the area of the respirator seal to the face.
