Suzanne Cristante, Laboratory Director
Mrs. Suzanne Cristante has been employed by ChemScope Inc, since May 1994 and has been the Laboratory Director since October 2011. She previously served as the company’s Laboratory Supervisor from June 2006 to September 2011 and was the PLM/PCM Quality Assurance Coordinator since 1996. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven Connecticut in 1992.
Suzanne has been conducting PLM (Polarized Light Microscopy) analysis since May 1994 and has taken the Advanced Asbestos Identification with McCrone Research Institute. She has attended the Johnson Asbestos Conferences in 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2011, sponsored by ASTM International. Suzanne has been a PCM (Phase Contrast Microscopy) analyst since March 1996 and has been an AIHA Registry Programs LLC Board Approved Analyst since 1998 and also teaches the NIOSH 582 in-house course to all new Company employees.
In addition to day to day laboratory duties, Suzanne Cristante has been organizing Inter-Laboratory Sample Exchanges for both PLM and PCM since 1995. These ‘Round Robins’ began with a handful of participants and has grown into a global adventure. The PLM Inter-Lab Round Robin samples are currently distributed to 15 Laboratories with participants from locations such a Massachusetts, South Carolina and Canada. The PCM samples currently travel to approximately 40 destinations. The Laboratories are as close to home as Hartford Connecticut to as far away as Puerto Rico and Japan.
When home, Suzanne loves spending quality time with her husband and two daughters. She is a dance mom who cheers on her children at many competitions both locally and along the East Coast. Suzanne enjoys gardening, and cooking.
