LEAD RISK ASSESSOR DESCRIPTION:

Lead Risk Assessor courses offered at Chem Scope are CT DPH Approved under 20-478 and are also EPA Accredited under EPA CFR 40 745.226. Training may be accepted in other states. Check with individual states for any new requirements and added requirements for licensing or certification. Students who successfully complete the initial course become eligible to be certified by DPH in the discipline. They have to meet State requirements, submit a fee and an application.

Annual state licensing is required for private industry lead inspector-risk assessors and lead consultant companies in most states. If you would like to become licensed in the state of Connecticut, you can find more information here: https://portal.ct.gov/DPH/Environmental-Practitioner-Licensure-Program/Environmental-Practitioner-Licensure-Unit/Environmental-Practitioner-Licensure#Lead%20Licensing

Those who wish to become licensed also need to pass the LEHA third party exam after class within 180 days. Here is more information: https://home.pearsonvue.com/Clients/Lead-and-Environmental-Hazard-Association-(LEHA).aspx

Per Section 20-479 of chapter 400c, code enforcement officials working within the scope of duties may be exempt from CT DPH licensing.
