32 Hour Lead Worker Initial – In Person – Two Weekends

FOUR DAYS, TWO WEEKENDS: This 32 hour class takes place on two consecutive weekends.

• Saturday March 26 and Sunday March 27 from 8 am – 5 pm
• Saturday, April 2 from 8 am – 5 pm
• Sunday, April 3 from 12:30 pm – 9:30 pm. Please note that Sunday, April 3, 2022 is an afternoon/evening class.

Cost: $550

DPH APPROVED LEAD INITIAL COURSE:

Lead Worker courses offered at Chem Scope are CT DPH Approved under 20-478-1 through 3. Since Connecticut is an EPA authorized state, the course are also EPA Accredited under EPA CFR 40 745.226 and meet requirements of OSHA 1926.62. Training is accepted in other states. Check with individual states for any new requirements and added requirements for licensing or certification. Students must have annual refresher before getting their certification renewed.

LEAD WORKER INITIAL TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

The course includes lectures, demonstrations, hands-on training, a hands on skills assessment, and a written examination. The course includes instruction on:

Background information on lead and its adverse health effects.
Background information on federal, state, and local regulations and guidance that pertains to lead- based paint abatement.
Development of preabatement work plan
Hazard recognition and control
Respiratory protection and protective clothing
Lead paint abatement or lead hazard reduction including prohibited methods
Interior dust abatement/cleanup or lead hazard reduction
Soil and exterior dust abatement or lead hazard reduction
Clearance standards and testing
Cleanup and Waste disposal

COVID-19

By purchasing a ticket and attending class during the COVID-19 pandemic, students agree to follow local and federal regulations and Chem Scope, Inc. safety protocols.

Water bottles will be the only available refreshments.

At-risk individuals as described by current CDC, DPH, or other relevant regulatory guidelines should not attend in-person training, but instead continue to stay home and stay safe.

Persons with symptoms of or a positive test for COVID-19 may not enter the Chem Scope, Inc. training center.
